Watch: Garda draws gun inside Dublin station

A Garda has been caught on camera drawing a pistol inside Finglas Garda Station in the middle of the night.

The incident took place on Wednesday morning at around 1.30am in the morning.

In the video, a Garda is seen drawing a gun and aiming it in a direction parallel to the road.

The Garda points the weapon for a few seconds before putting it down by his side.

A spokesperson for the Gardai told Dublin Live "an authorised firearms officer" drew the pistol but added the Garda was "not under any threat".

They said: "An Garda Síochána is aware of a video in circulation on social media. A member of An Garda Síochána, an authorised firearms officer, did draw an official issue firearm in a controlled private environment.

"No civilians were present at the time. The Garda was not under any threat nor presenting a threat to any person at the time."
