Watch Game Of Thrones and you will feel a mix of the emotional and dramatic

Game Of Thrones is unpredictable at the best of times and just when you think everything is going to be OK, they go and kill off a main character.

So fans could be right in feeling they are being lulled into a false sense of security following the first episode of the final season.

There are emotional, and ehh not so emotional, reunions and the usual dark humour giving the opening episode a lighter feel compared to others.

There are warning signs of foreboding to come but overall it’s a gentle opener to the end of this epic series.

Don’t get me wrong, there are moments of high drama and key storyline developments as Jon Snow finally finds out his true identity.

But this is interwoven with heartwarming scenes that see Ayra and Jon finally being brought back together at Winterfell and Jon taking his first ride on a dragon. Horses will never be the same, by the way.

I just can’t shake the feeling that a lot of these lovely moments are going to come crashing down around us in the next five episodes.

Game of Thrones season 8 trailer

Cersei appears to have tricked brother Tyrion into believing she is capable of doing the right thing, but we all know that, ehh, rhymes with witch, has other plans. You may think she’s down, especially after her disappointment at finding out she has no elephants, but she’s like a cockroach, survives anything!

Also we know Daenerys can be ruthless - things are already chilly between her and Sansa. What will the Mother of Dragons do when she finds out she is not the true heir to the Iron Throne?

In the words of Ramsey Bolton: “If you think this has a happy ending, you haven’t been paying attention.”
