WATCH: Frustrated Kyle Busch told Joe Gibbs he quit during race

Kyle Busch managed to finish in third place in Sunday’s Coca-Cola 600, but the driver of the No. 18 Toyota car didn’t finish without struggles.

During the fourth and final 100-lap stage of the race at Charlotte Motor Speedway, Busch’s headset audio exposes that he had resigned from Joe Gibbs Racing. The exchange begins with the driver repeating “God bless America, God bless America, God bless America,” to which his spotter Tony Hirschman responds that Busch may have nicked the wall entry to turn one.

Busch’s reaction is an (understandable) expletive and “I quit! Joe, I send in my resignation.” It is not being reported that the heat-of-the-moment resignation from the Joe Gibbs Racing Team is accepted or official, but it’s a frustration many people can likely relate to when things are going far from ideally at work.
