Bryn Forbes, the former Michigan State sharpshooter who is now playing with the San Antonio Spurs, recently sat down for a five-minute video with the Spurs to talk about his path to the NBA and it has some awesome anecdotes from head coach Gregg Popovich and Forbes himself.
“I think my biggest purpose is to show people anything is possible.”
Of course, Forbes started at Cleveland State before heading to MSU. He was then an undrafted free agent playing on an unguaranteed contract. Now, amazingly, he is the starting shooting guard for the Spurs and played big minutes in last year’s playoffs.

To me, Forbes exemplifies everything Michigan State players represent. He thrives as an underdog, exceeds expectations through hard work and smart play, and continues to make an impact in the pros. What’s most exciting is that I don’t think he’s done growing as a player, so it’ll be fun to see what happens with Bryn this season.
