Watch former Rangers star Martyn Waghorn's hilarious pitchside antics as Wayne Rooney makes Derby dugout debut

All the attention may be focused on Wayne Rooneyas he makes his first touchline appearance as a coach at Pride Park today, but former Rangers star Martyn Waghorn doesn't seem to be taking the increased focus on the club too seriously.

The club posted a video on their social media channels showing the players running out for their warm-up when the man Gers fans affectionately call 'Waggy' saunters past with the most ridiculous of silly walks.

The striker left Ibrox for Ipswich in the summer of 2017 for a bargain £500k before his form in the Championship prompted an £8m summer move by then-boss Frank Lampard .

The Geordie has scored five goals this season under Dutch boss Philip Cocu as the Rams have struggled to gain promotion momentum.

They sit in 14th place in the Championship, 15 points off leaders Leeds United.

Rooney arrived at the club earlier in the week and will be eligible to play in January. He has signed an 18-month player-coach deal with the club.
