He may be gone, but he’ll never be forgotten. That 2014 magical post-season ride Ohio State went on with 3rd string quarterback Cardale Jones may never be topped. It’s one of the most remarkable and improbable runs in any sport ever.
Truth be known, Jones may have never gotten a shake at an NFL opportunity if both Braxton Miller and J.T. Barrett went down with injury that year, but all of Buckeye nation are sure glad he came up big, and so were certain NFL scouts.
Since that time, Jones has had a problem finding his place in the league, but he’s still out there reminding us of that uncanny arm strength.
Watch as he throws it on point for a touchdown pass with a simple flick of the wrist against the New Orleans Saints. All while pressure bears down on him.
Bring back memories for anyone? I know it does for me. If he could find a fit in the right situation, Jones might just be able to carve out a little niche for himself. Some people are just given physical gifts that the large majority of us will never sniff.
