Watch: Former Georgia QB Jake Fromm gets first NFL snaps

Former Georgia quarterback Jake Fromm got the first snaps of his NFL career on Friday night in the Buffalo Bills 16-15 preseason win over the Detroit Lions.

Buffalo drafted Fromm in the 5th round of the 2020 draft after a productive career at Georgia where he helped lead the Bulldogs to an SEC Championship appearance, 2017 SEC Championship title, 2018 Rose Bowl playoff win and a national championship appearance.

Last season, Fromm served as the Bills’ emergency quarterback incase of COVID-19 issues, which kept him away from the team for most of the last year.

Last night Fromm got to take the field for the first time in his young pro career and well, he impressed…

This 42 yard pass set up the Bills’ game-winning field goal. Fromm totaled 65 yards on 8 of 13 passing and took two sacks but looked in-control in his first game appearance since the 2020 Sugar Bowl.

Fromm took to Twitter after the game:

Fromm finished his illustrious career in Athens as the second all-time leader in passing touchdowns (78) and fourth in passing yards (8,224).

The Fromm stat that stands out the most – he maintained a perfect record in the SEC East over his three seasons except for South Carolina in 2019, that includes a spotless 3-0 record over the Gators from Gainesville.

You can catch Fromm and the Bills in another preseason matchup on Saturday, Aug. 21 as they take on the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field.
