The Atlanta Falcons lost a good one last week when assistant general manager Scott Pioli stepped down from his post. Not only was Pioli instrumental in keeping Atlanta competitive these last few years, by all accounts he is a terrific human being.
If you need proof, just watch this commencement speech Pioli gave this past weekend at his alma mater, Central Connecticut State University. It’s 20 minutes long but worth every second.
In the statement Pioli released after his decision to leave the Falcons, he said he wants to pursue other potential opportunities.
This could mean Pioli is in the mix for the Jets’ opening at general manager. He previously served as the Chiefs’ GM from 2009-2012.
