Arizona Cardinals fans will not remember him fondly, but former head coach Buddy Ryan was quite the character. He was bold and brash. He gave good quotes for content.
He was recently named No. 11 of the league’s 100 greatest characters, as the NFL continues to celebrate its 100th year.
As coach of the Cardinals, he showed up promising wins. The first season looked promising but things soon fell apart. They went 8-8 in 1994 and then 4-12 in 1995. He was fired after two seasons and never was a head coach again.
