Watch former Bristol City, Everton and Aston Villa star get sent off after bizarre dive

Yannick Bolasie has gone viral on Twitter having been sent off in bizarre circumstances for Sporting CP.

The former Bristol City star is currently plying his trade for the Lisbon-based side on loan from Everton and has had a positive campaign so far.

Yet he was sent off in his side's 4-2 win over Portimonense for what he subsequently described as a "Hollywood" dive.

Bolasie's video, which has so far garnered over 10,000 retweets, shows the winger taking on a defender, who goes flying after being turned on the wing.

The referee subsequently sent Bolasie off, appearing to be convinced that the 30-year-old's trailing arm caught the defender in the face.

Bolasie joined the Robins from Plymouth Argyle in 2011 but lasted just one season at the club before handing in a transfer request due to a desire to return to London.

He subsequently joined Crystal Palace from the Robins and enjoyed a successful four years in South London before a big-money move to Everton.

Yet a long-term knee injury kept him out from December 2016 to December 2017, and he has struggled for football at the Toffees ever since.

After previous spells at Aston Villa and Anderlecht, this current stint at Sporting is his third loan away from Goodison Park.

It was Bolasie's first red card since 2013.
