Watch flying GAZEBO halt Irvine Meadow vs Auchinleck Talbot as high winds wreak havoc in West of Scotland clash

Irvine Meadow's highly anticipated clash with Auchinleck Talbot was hit with an unlikely interruption after a section of a gazebo flew onto the pitch.

Two of the most recognisable sides in the West of Scotland league met at a windy Meadow Park on Saturday afternoon.

The home side were looking to gain some ground on their rivals and chip away at the 13-point gap between them.

As it happened they had no such luck - Talbot ran out 5-1 winners in the end to leapfrog Pollok at the top of the table.

But the rout was only in its early stages when one of the most bizarre interruptions you're ever likely to see stole the show.

A section of the gazebo was blown onto the pitch at the end of the ground Talbot were defending in the first half.

The referee stopped the game in his confusion and home boss Colin Spence was seen running over to help the ground staff clear the pitch.

Both sides are hopeful of promotion to the SPFL at the first time of asking after joining the new West of Scotland Premier Division from the Junior leagues.

As it stands Talbot look the more likely of the two to make that as they fight it out with Pollok at the head of the division.

They also have a Scottish Cup tie with Hamilton to look forward to later this month.
