WATCH: First four minutes of Netflix’s ‘Quarterback’ featuring Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes

The Netflix “Quarterback” docuseries is nearly here, with its debut set for Wednesday, July 12.

The story follows Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes, Minnesota Vikings QB Kirk Cousins and former Atlanta Falcons QB Marcus Mariota through the day-to-day of being a quarterback in the NFL. Whether it’s time on the field, in the classroom, in the weight room, or spending time with family off-the-field, this will provide unprecedented access to the lives of three NFL quarterbacks. It features all of the highs and all of the lows for each of these three players during the 2022 NFL season.

With just a few days to go, Netflix has one-upped its trailer reveal. They released the first four minutes of the docuseries ahead of its premiere. It includes an introduction narrated by producer Peyton Manning, which really encapsulates the story behind the docuseries.

“Alright look, I’m a little biased,” Manning said. “But for my money, there is not a harder position in sports than being an NFL quarterback. I mean think about it, as a quarterback, every single play, you’re the focus. You have to know everyone else’s job just as well as your own. You can’t hear half the time, the weather is bad, you got 300-pound linemen trying to kill you. Win or lose you’re going to be front and center. You have to give credit when it’s good. You have to take blame when it’s bad. You have to face the music when times are tough and there’s always someone waiting to take your spot.”

Mahomes even gets some screen time in the first four minutes.

“Everybody sees the game days, but they don’t see the day-to-day grind,” Mahomes said. “They don’t see how you have to manage playing football and being a dad and being a husband.”

This docuseries is just days away, but it still feels like it can’t get here soon enough.
