Watch Feyenoord fans head for Rangers clash as police escort boisterous support to Ibrox

Feyenoord fans marched their way to Ibrox ahead of their side's clash with Rangers.

The Dutch outfit were escorted by police from the city centre to Govan and into the away section at Ibrox.

Around 1500 Feyenoord supporters are in Glasgow for the Europa League match and they were kettled by police with riot vans also in attendance to ensure nothing kicked off.

The Rotterdam outfit have been notorious in the past for their antics off the field and there were battles between Dutch and Rangers fans the last time the sides met in 2002.

Now, 17 years on, police took no risks in ensuring the away fans headed for the match with no issues.

They were moved slowly through the streets by police and were regularly stopped for minutes at a time.

Earlier today, they gathered in George Square and were pictured letting off flares in the middle of Glasgow city centre.

Police officers have been on the scene all day and the visitors were allowed to break the city's drinking on the street laws to make sure that they were all kept in one place.

Ibrox will experience an emotionally-charged atmosphere as fans remember their hero Fernando Ricksen, who passed away on Wednesday after a long battle with MND.
