Watch: Falcons safety Ricardo Allen returns to field to rehab injured achilles

With all the injuries the Falcons had last season, it can be easy to lose sight of any one of them. The torn achilles that safety Ricardo Allen suffered in the Week 3 loss to the Saints was as devastating as any. Allen sat out for the remainder of the regular season and Atlanta’s defensive back depth took another enormous hit after also losing Keanu Neal to an ACL tear.

An achilles tear is among the worst injuries any professional athlete could have. Fortunately, Allen’s long-term prognosis is good. He’s now back on the field for rehab, according to his Snapchat. H/T Rise up Reader.

Allen signed a three-year contract extension last summer, so he’s not going anywhere anytime soon. Next season, Allen will return to starting at free safety and Damontae Kazee will play nickel.
