The Falcons are usually one of the more astute teams at finding talent in the NFL draft. This year, they’ve gotten a lot of criticism over their choices in the first round. Chris Lindstrom might be the best guard in this draft class, but taking a guard as high as No. 14 overall has never been a popular move and never will be. Critics of No. 31 pick Kaleb McGary say that he has potential but was a reach that early.
For what it’s worth, Atlanta’s front office isn’t flinching and coach Dan Quinn is looking forward to incorporating McGary’s physicality. Watch.
