He bagged once more on Saturday as Sirius travelled to face Osters IF. Although they succumbed to a stoppage-time leveller in a 2-2 draw, Ure opened the scoring just after the break with a close-range finish.

Now 21 years of age, Ure made his senior Rangers debut at just 18, netting in a 3-1 win over Queen of the South in the League Cup

The forward went on to play twice more for his boyhood club before leaving for Belgium in the summer of 2023 on a free transfer.

In other news, new Panathinaikos midfielder Pedro Chirivella has targeted a Champions League win over Rangers after signing for the Greek side.

He said: "The fact that Panathinaikos are in the Champions League played a very big part in my decision to come here.

"We have two very big matches against Rangers coming up, and we need to be 100 per cent ready to play them.

"I am sure we have enough in the team to get through.

"It was an easy decision to sign here because everyone knows Panathinaikos are a very big team. I wanted to come here, I have big ambitions to play in the Champions League.

"I think we can win the title this season and that's one of my goals."
