Watch ex-Rangers striker Kyle Lafferty plead with Kilmarnock fans after Premiership relegation

Former Rangers striker Kyle Lafferty was one of the few players to face the music following Kilmarnock's relegation from the Premiership last night.

Lafferty, who joined Killie during the January transfer window and has an impressive 13 goals to his name for the Ayrshire club this season, was on target in the 2-1 defeat to Dundee, but couldn't stop Tommy Wright 's side from losing the playoff final 4-2 on aggregate.

Next season will be the first time in 28 years that Kilmarnock have not been in the top-flight and with passions running high after the full-time whistle, supporters demanded answers.

Few had the courage to front-up and converse with the waiting crowds but Lafferty stuck his head above the parapet and apologise for the insipid displays:

At the age of 33, and with his short-term contract expiring this summer, it remains to be seen where Lafferty will be playing his football next season, but he could be crucial to Kilmarnock's attempts to return to the Premiership at the first attempt.
