Watch: Ex-Aston Villa and Wolves experience is ideal for Accies job admits new boss Stuart Taylor

Stuart Taylor admits he’s developed immensely as a coach since leaving Hamilton over ten years ago.

The new Accies boss has coached at English Premier League sides including Stoke City and Aston Villa.

The 46-year-old has also managed in Qatar and Ireland and Taylor insists those experiences have been hugely beneficial.

“There’s loads [I’ve learned],” Taylor admitted. “It’s about continuing to learn but passing on as much information and experience onto players and coaches as well.

“I’ve not just come here to make myself better but to better people themselves. There’s a bundle load of things over the years that has made me who I am just now.

“Hopefully we do the right things here and get success. Everybody wants to play entertaining football and it’s easy to say but it’s got to be effective football.

“We need to put out a team that the lads are comfortable playing in but also it’s getting fitness levels and everything right.

“There’s loads of different things but being a well-drilled, well-organised side is really important.”

Taylor will be in the stands at New Douglas Park for the Championship clash against Kilmarnock tomorrow and he’s placing his full trust in George Cairns, Brian Potter and Guillaume Beuzelin.

“I don’t know too much about stepping back because the passion is still there for the lads to do well.

“I said to Pottsy, Boozy and George that I’ll be there or thereabouts if they want to bounce any ideas.

“I certainly wasn’t going to bounce in after they’ve been preparing the lads all week. I wasn’t going to come in today and start doing something different.

“It was the case of allowing them to continue with their game plan and let them enjoy the occasion of the week’s training and the game tomorrow.

“I’ve been in that situation myself previously and I appreciated the manager coming and letting me continue that.

“I liked it so I’m quite sure that they will too.”
