WATCH: Every Dee Ford sack from 2018

Dee Ford had his most productive season yet for the Chiefs in 2018. He set career highs in tackles, sacks, forced fumbles, quarterback hits, and tackles for loss. Not only did he fill up the stat sheet, but he had visible improvements against the pass and run. Each of his sacks in 2018 were what evaluators consider “quality sacks.” That means Ford wasn’t left unblocked, or schemed into position on a twist or stunt.

Ford’s contract is up when the new league year begins in March. The Chiefs need to make a decision on Ford. They could sign him to a long term contract, they could issue him the 2019 franchise tag, or they could attempt to tag and trade him. It’s unclear what their plan is currently, but Ford sounded like he was interested in staying in Kansas City when he spoke following the 2018 season.

Where would Ford fit in the Kansas City Chiefs defense in 2019 under Steve Spagnuolo? Well he would revert back to his college position and play rush defensive end.  Making the switch back to that position shouldn’t be too difficult for Ford. Two of Ford’s 2018 sacks came from a three-point stance, which he would be utilizing more often if he plays defensive end.

Take a look at every sack from Dee Ford’s 2018 season in the video at the top of the page. Let us know your thoughts on bringing him back for the 2019 season on Facebook and Twitter.
