WATCH: ESPN’s Mike Schmitz explains why LaMelo Ball is most talented prospect in 2020 NBA Draft

After releasing an article on LaMelo Ball during the week, ESPN DraftExpress expert Mike Schmitz went on SportsCenter with Scott Van Pelt on Friday night and offered even more explanation into why he stated that LaMelo Ball was the most talented player in the upcoming 2020 NBA Draft.

Schmitz made many of the same points laid out in his piece, detailing Ball’s incredible talent as an 18-year old with ball-handling and playmaking and passing ability he calls unparalleled for anyone else his age currently. However, he does raise concerns about his focus and lack of a traditional background in basketball that could lead to some concerns from scouts.

Most interestingly and something he didn’t dive into in his piece is Schmitz take that Ball is “done with all the cameras” and the spotlight. The best point made by Schmitz is that Ball is trying to shed a notion about him that he didn’t create but came as a result of being the son of LaVar Ball.

In all, it’s another largely positive report about Ball, who is seven games into his NBL season and is averaging 12.6 points, 6.1 rebounds and 5.6 assists with the Illawarra Hawks.
