Watch England fans launch bottles at each other as thousands descend on London ahead of UEFA Euro 2020 final

England fans launched bottles as they gathered in Leicester Square ahead of the Euro 2020 final.

Gareth Southgate and his side are preparing for their Wembley date with destiny as they take on Italy later on Sunday.

Supporters have been gathering in their thousands hours ahead of the 8pm kick-off.

Leicester Square emerged as a hub for punters but many were forced to scatter as glass was smashed and objects thrown by some in attendance.

Footage shared online by Urban Pictures also shows cones being thrown into the air and litter strewn across the street as people run for cover.

The video pictures also show missiles being thrown at a nearby building window with a glass pane badly cracked as onlookers watch on from afar.

The showpiece occasion is England 's first major final appearance since winning the World Cup in 1966.

Southgate's team triumphed over Denmark in the semi-final, outlasting their opponents in extra-time following a 1-1 draw after 90 minutes.

Harry Kane turned home the winner as he netted the rebound from his own penalty after Kasper Schmeichel denied the England and Tottenham captain from the penalty spot.

You can watch the footage from Leicester Square above.
