WATCH: Emmanuel Sanders speaks to Denver media as he leaves Broncos’ facility

After learning that he had been traded to the San Francisco 49ers, former Denver Broncos wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders spoke to media outlets including KCNC-TV and KUSA-TV before he left UCHealth Training Center.

“It’s hard anytime you break up or leave a place, it’s tough,” Sanders said. “We definitely had a great run out here in Denver — had a lot of great times but obviously all good things come to an end.”

The Broncos sent Sanders and a fifth-round pick to San Francisco in exchange for a third-round pick and a fourth-round pick.

Sanders said his favorite memories from his time in Denver were the Super Bowl 50 win and the 2014-2015 seasons. He also expressed appreciation for the fans that have remained faithful in their support.

“When I think about this situation, I think about the eight-year-old kid or the 12-year-old kid that has my jersey on,” Sanders said. “I’m no longer part of the Broncos organization. For those fans out there that enjoy watching me play, that always brought energy and always sent me positive messages and rooted for me no matter what — the ups and downs — I really appreciate you guys and I’m forever grateful and thankful.”

Sanders, 32, will now join a 6-0 49ers team that some experts believe are Super Bowl contenders. Sanders will play in an offense similar to the Broncos’ so he should be able to make a quick adjustment in San Francisco.
