A woman was violently restrained by American Airlines staff after attempting to storm the cockpit of a flight departing São Paulo for New York City, sparking chaos and a two-hour delay.

The incident occurred April 24, aboard American Airlines Flight AA950, a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner scheduled to depart São Paulo for JFK, according to the New York Post. Tensions reportedly began when a first-class passenger became irate over the plane's delayed takeoff.

Video shared online shows the woman, dressed in formal attire, trying to force her way into the cockpit while a crew member yells "Get out!" and physically pushes her back. She was knocked to the floor during the altercation, then restrained with the help of another staff member and returned to her seat, as other passengers shouted and became visibly upset.

Following the confrontation, the plane returned to the boarding gate and both the woman and another disruptive passenger were handed over to police. The delay added two hours to the flight's schedule.

It remains unclear if any charges were filed. American Airlines issued a statement confirming the safety protocol. The airline has not disclosed whether the woman has been banned from future flights.
