EDINBURGH Zoo has released footage of newly-hatched gentoo penguin chicks born last month.
Five chicks have arrived so far, with more eggs set to hatch in the coming weeks.
Among the new penguin parents are Muffin and Mittens, who welcomed a new chick on Monday May 2 2022, and Draco and Silvey, who welcomed two chicks on Sunday May 8.
Male and female gentoo penguins usually mate with the same partner every year and take it in turns to incubate their eggs over 34-37 days.
People are invited to watch the chicks' development via a live webcam.

The capital's zoo is home to over 100 penguins from three species, king, the endangered Northern rockhopper and gentoo.
Earlier this year, the zoo confirmed that two endangered Northern rockhopper penguin chicks had hatched.
