Cody Parkey’s name will no longer echo through the stands of Soldier Field as Eddy Pineiro went from butt-of-the-joke to hero in Week 2 against the Denver Broncos.
With the game on the line, the Chicago Bears kicker nailed a game-winning 53-yard field goal to avoid an 0-2 start.
Pineiro finished the game 3-for-3 and remains the Bears leading scorer this season.
Any doubts about the kicker situation in Chicago have been erased. Pineiro has earned the respect of his coaches and teammates, and now he’s proven himself to the fanbase too.
