The Chicago Bears kicked off their offseason team activities this week and it’s been the first look at how the defense will respond to new defensive coordinator, Chuck Pagano.
Gone is Vic Fangio, who was hired this offseason to become the new coach of the Denver Broncos. And while many analysts believe his departure will have a negative impact on the Bears’ defense in 2019, the players are singing a different tune.
Eddie Jackson and Akiem Hicks, two of the leaders on this team, spoke with reporters after OTAs Thursday and shed some light on the excitement to finally get back to work and, with all due respect to Fangio, the little that’s changed since 2018.
