Watch eco-warrior Scots schoolkids channel The Broons in animated warning about plastics

Green-minded schoolkids from two schools came together to make an environmental awareness animation.

The mini eco-warriors from Macduff Primary and Banff Primary in Aberdeenshire used the Broons as their inspiration in their video highlighting the devastating impact plastic use has on sea life.

The youngsters then sent letters about their project to a raft of world leaders and famous faces including Nicola Sturgeon , The Queen, David Attenborough and Donald Trump.

So far they’ve had a response from all of them except for the US President - but they’re not giving up hope!

And it's not the children's only effort to help the environment.

They’ve been picking up plastics on their walks, making eco bricks for their homes and even giving parents recycling advice.

Brenda Taylor, the acting deputy head teacher at Macduff Primary when time the kids made their animation, said: "I was delighted to see how engaged and informed the children were and have encouraged others to be.

"Macduff Primary school is proud to be an eco-school!"
