WATCH Duffy's Circus puts on incredible show that's nothing like what we remember as kids

Duffy's Circus has surprised and delighted audiences with an unbelievable show at Tallaght Stadium.

The show featured amazing lasers, lighting, ballet dancers and amazing circus performances, with audiences sitting in awe at what unfolded before them. And one thing must be said abut it; this is not how we remember the circus as kids in Dublin. It's safe to say they have come a long way.

Speaking to Dublin Live about the performances, Managing Director of Duffy's Circus David Duffy said: "The show is terrific.

"Everyone in the circus, we're all so delighted to be back performing."

Meanwhile, clown performer David Marquez, who is originally from Mexico and has been with the circus for almost 13 years, revealed that he is a fifth generation circus performer.

He said: "The clown is a big part of the show, an important part of the show. You have to connect with the audience. It's great, I love it."

Tom Duffy's Circus rearranged their showtimes in late 2021 in accordance with restrictions on the entertainment and hospitality sector brought in by the government.

Writing on Instagram in December, they told ticket holders: "Please support us and the arts by coming to visit us here at the Stadium and make your Christmas magical!"

Show organisers promised "adrenaline-pumping and action-packed performances" which they certainly delivered on.

Audiences seemed to be in agreement about the quality of the show. One Instagram user called it the "best show in years I was at from any circus entertainment".

Another said: "An amazing show from start to finish... But laser man was definitely one of our favourites."

Tom Duffy's Circus is one of the oldest circuses in the world, dating back to 18th century when shoemaker Patrick James Duffy from Dublin became fascinated by foreign circuses when they visited Ireland.

Today, they is supported and funded by The Arts Council.

Tom Duffy's Vircus will be in the Big Top Tent in Tallaght until January 9th with some tickets still available.
