Watch: Dubs reveal when they think it's okay to put up your Christmas trees

It's a debate that seems to rage like a fire every year - when is it too early, when is it too late and when is it just the right time to put up your Christmas tree?

There's then the whole tinsel on the tree argument, but that's for another day.

Some use the Late Late Toy Show as the benchmark while others strongly believe that no tree should be up before December 1st. Then, you have people like Anita from Tallaght who believes September is the best time for it.

Dublin Live took to the streets to ask the city's fine people exactly what they thought and the answers were, as expected, varied in nature.

Among the people who like to wait a while to put their trees up were a few who said December 8th, because according to them, that's the traditional time to put up the tree.

Others said that they prefer to put theirs up around two weeks before Christmas Day and one man even revealed that he would prefer to put it up just one week before Christmas.

Of course, there are those who like to get it up earlier than some.

One woman revealed: "The last weekend in November or the first week within December. I think the lead up to Christmas is nearly better than the few days after. I enjoy looking at it more during the Christmas season. It puts me into good humour."
