WATCH: Do the Boston Celtics really have mind control over the Philadelphia 76ers?

The Boston Celtics have long had the upper hand against their Atlantic Division rival Philadelphia 76ers in games between the two storied franchises. The Celtics 88-87 win over the Sixers on Wednesday was another such example of Boston beating Philly despite popular analysis rating the 76ers as a team with a higher ceiling this season.

This phenomenon has been discussed often by members of the team who used to be Sixers as well as current Sixers, and most recently by Boston head coach Ime Udoka. The Celtics coach, who was an assistant with Philly a few seasons back before he got the top job with Boston, joked the Celtics have mind control over the Sixers, which many Boston fans found humor in hearing.

But what exactly is the reason the Celtics beat Philly so often when, on paper, the Sixers are the better team? Hosts of the eponymous ESPN show Jalen Rose and David Jacoby got into such a line of inquiry on the latest episode of their show.

Watch the clip embedded above to hear their takes on why the longstanding rivalry has so recently been lopsided.
