Watch Dire Mebude strike as Rangers U15s beat Charlton to win prestigious SuperCupNI

Rangers U-15's struck in each half to defeat Charlton Athletic and win the SuperCupNI.

Goals from Dire Mebude - younger brother of development squad star Dapo - and Robbie Ure sealed a 2-0 win over the Addicks in Northern Ireland.

The tournament, which features top youth sides at U-13, U-15 and U-17 level, concluded with a tightly contested final for the Ibrox youngsters.

They defeated County Armagh, Bracknell Town, Global Premier Soccer and County Tyrone on their way to Friday night's finale at the Ballymena Showgrounds.

Mebude opened the scoring with a tidy touch and finish in the box, but passed up the opportunity to double the lead, and his tally, as a first-half spot-kick was saved.

Ure then clinched the trophy in second-half stoppage time after coming off the bench.

Meanwhile, Rangers ' development squad are in action against Chelsea U-23's at the Hummel Training Centre.

First team stars Andy Firth, Filip Helander , Jon Flanagan, Matt Polster and Jake Hastie are all in the starting line-up for the friendly against the Blues.

Lining up against them is former Rangers kid Billy Gilmour , who moved from Ibrox to Stamford Bridge in 2017.

The 18-year-old Scotland U-21 international has also featured for Frank Lampard's first-team this summer in pre-season.
