Watch Dick Advocaat in emotional farewell as former Rangers boss fights back tears in goodbye to football

A visibly emotional Dick Advocaat signed off with a win in his final match in football as he took Feyenoord into Europe.

The Dutchman has had a long and successful career, most famously with Rangers between 1998 and 2001.

Advocaat brought the likes of Michael Mols and Ronald de Boer to Ibrox, winning a domestic Treble in his first season and an SPL and Scottish Cup Double in the second.

In total he managed Rangers for close to 200 games and remains a popular figure with fans.

After 41 years in football management Advocaat took charge of his final game on Sunday as Feyenoord defeated Utrecht 2-0.

That result was enough to take the Eredivisie side into next season's Europa League and it was clearly an emotional day for the 71-year-old.

Advocaat could be seen fighting back tears both during and after the match as his emotions came to the fore.

The veteran has also managed the Netherlands national team on three separate occasions, as well as having spells at Zenit St Petersburg, Fenerbahce and Sunderland.

He's enjoyed a long career in both club and international management having also taken charge of Serbia, South Korea, the UAE and Russia.
