WATCH: Deshaun Watson refuses to be sacked in London

Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson is tough to bring down; not because he is a big target like Cam Newton, but because he is elusive and slippery.

Case in point: in the second quarter against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 9 at Wembley Stadium in London, Watson got away from “Sacksonville” defenders to dump off to running back Carlos Hyde. Technically, it was a “run” by Hyde, but the fact there was a chance to pick up the first down was mostly due to Watson’s escapability.

Referee Clete Blakeman told John Harris of the Houston Texans Radio Network that he told his officials that he would blow the plays dead featuring Watson and Jaguars quarterback Gardner Minshew scrambling around, so as to avoid any incidents like what happened with referee Tony Corrente in Indianapolis in Week 7.

The drive concluded with Watson throw a 1-yard touchdown pass to tight end Darren Fells to give Houston a 9-0 lead with 5:55 in the second quarter.
