The New Orleans Saints gathered for their usual pregame huddle, as always led by defensive captain Demario Davis. But for the first time in a month they were joined by Drew Brees, making his return after four weeks on the injured reserve list. And Davis took time to celebrate the occasion.
“This is war time, and we are war ready,” Davis shouted from among their teammates. “And guess what? We’ve got our general with us.”
It’s the biggest game of the year for the Saints, matching them up with the Super Bowl-champion Kansas City Chiefs in Week 15. Davis and Brees will both need to be on top of their game to lead their squad to victory against one of the best offenses in recent memory.
