Although the opening night matchup between the Dallas Mavericks and Phoenix Suns featured All-Star caliber players Luka Doncic, Devin Booker and Chris Paul, a former member of the Golden State Warriors was the one making headlines late on Wednesday night.
After signing with the Suns during the offseason, Damion Lee helped his new team secure a furious comeback with a heroic performance in the final frame.
All 11 of Lee’s points came in the fourth quarter, with his most important bucket coming in the final seconds. With the game tied, Lee knocked down a tough turnaround jumper over Spencer Dinwiddie with less than 10 seconds remaining. After Doncic missed a jumper on the next possession, the Suns finished a 22-point comeback with a win, 107-105.

In his debut with the Suns, Lee notched 11 points on 4-of-8 shooting from the field and 3-of-5 shooting from long distance with two assists and two boards in 20 minutes off the bench.
