WATCH: Cristiano Ronaldo arrives at Dublin Airport after Ireland v Portugal draw

Cristiano Ronaldo and the rest of the Portugal team arrived at Dublin airport last night to catch a flight home.

They were met by a group of screaming fans all eager to catch a glimpse of the legend before he left Ireland.

Ronaldo walked briskly along towards his plane, much to the disappointment of Dublin fans.

Gardai controlled the crowd that had gathered to see the team's bus arrive after they drew the Irish team in the Aviva.

Westlife star Nicky Byrne revealed that he was lucky enough to nab a hilarious 'selfie' with Ronaldo at the Ireland vs Portugal match last night.

He took to Instagram to share the picture he took of his pint of Guinness with a tiny Cristiano Ronaldo in the background.

He captioned it: "Got a quick selfie with @cristiano this eve! #coybig @faireland @avivastadium @johnnycourto."

Over 51,000 fans packed into the ground for the game and Ronaldo certainly wasn't given the most Irish of welcomes, with some booing heard in the crowd.

Meanwhile, the FAI have revealed that a young girl that ran on the pitch to meet the soccer superstar will not be fined.

The FAI have confirmed that no action will be taken against 11-year old Addison Whelan after she entered the field to seek Ronaldo's shirt last night,

Shelbourne under-13 player Whelan saw her chance at the final whistle and was rewarded with his match-worn shirt.

She spoke on RTE Radio One's Morning Ireland to explain exactly what happened.

Addison said: ""I jumped over the barrier because I was in the second row, so I jumped over the first row and then the barrier. I sprinted onto the pitch but there were security guards behind me and then there were another two coming from the other corner. So I was just sprinting.

"I ran more towards the halfway line so I could swerve around them but then they caught me. I was just screaming Ronaldo's name.

"He turned around and he saw me, and he was telling them [security guards] to leave.

"I was just calling him over and he came over to me. And then I was just in shock, like crying. I was like, "can I have your jersey please?"

"When my dad saw him taking off the shirt his face was just in shock. I was like, "This is my dream and it's finally coming true."

"The stewards weren't giving out to me, they were just holding me by the arms and saying "where did you come from?"
