WATCH: Cordarelle Patterson takes it to the house on 102-yard kick return TD

When the Chicago Bears signed dynamic weapon Cordarrelle Patterson this past offseason, they were getting a playmaker that could contribute on offense and special teams.

With the Bears offense floundering early on against the New Orleans Saints, Patterson showed why he’s one of the game’s most electric returners.

Following an Anthony Miller fumble that led to a Saints touchdown, Patterson gave the Bears a much-needed boost — and points — when he returned a kickoff 102 yards for a touchdown.

Patterson’s kickoff return touchdown was the Bears’ first since Chris Williams returned one for 101 yards for a score against the Green Bay Packers on Nov. 9, 2014.

It was the first kickoff return touchdown at Soldier Field since Devin Hester’s 98-yarder against the Minnesota Vikings on Oct. 16, 2011.

According to NextGen Stats, Patterson reached 20.29 mph on his touchdown. Patterson has reached 20-plus mph on three special teams returns since 2018, which is tied for the fourth-most in the NFL in that span.

The Bears trail 9-7 at the end of the first quarter.
