A 31-year-old man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after reportedly being attacked in an East Kilbride flat.
Emergency services, including several police vans and cars and an ambulance, raced to The Murray Square shortly before 9pm last night.
Eyewitnesses described police officers "rushing up" to get in to flats then "booting in doors" to gain access, with enquiries ongoing say police.
The victim is said to have "serious but non life-threatening injuries."
A Police Scotland spokesman told Lanarkshire Live : “We received report of a 31-year-old man having been assaulted within a property on The Murray Square in East Kilbride around 8.40pm on Thursday, December 16.
“The man was taken to Hairmyres Hospital for treatment for serious but not life-threatening injuries.
"Enquiries into the incident are ongoing.”
