WATCH: Colts’ Philip Rivers throws 2 TDs in first half vs. Bengals

The Indianapolis Colts got off to a rough start in Sunday’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals, going down 21-0 going into the second quarter. But quarterback Philip Rivers is turning back the clock.

Rivers, who entered the week with plenty of question marks, has silenced just about everyone who doubted him (including me) coming into the game. Rivers had a massive first half that helped cut the Bengals lead to 24-21 at halftime.

Though the Colts didn’t score until the second quarter, Rivers has had an immaculate first half. He finished the half completing 18 of 26 passes for 267 yards, two touchdowns and 128.2 passer rating.

He has had seven passes go over 16 yards, which is what the Colts consider as an explosive passing play. His first touchdown pass of the game came on a 10-yard throw to tight end Trey Burton, who had scored earlier on a carry in a wildcat formation.

After the defense got their first stop of the game, Rivers led the Colts down the field for his second touchdown pass on a beautiful ball to Zach Pascal just before the half ended.
