WATCH: Colts’ Andrew Luck moving well in pregame warmups

Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck won’t be suiting up for the preseason Week 2 game against the Cleveland Browns on Saturday at Lucas Oil Stadium, but there was some encouraging video of his pregame warmups.

The biggest issue that gives Luck pain in his calf and ankle area is lateral movement. General manager Chris Ballard told reporters last week that moving forward and backward isn’t a problem, but the lateral movement has been giving him pain.

However, during pregame warmups against the Browns, Luck was seen running footwork drills and moving laterally. Though too much shouldn’t be made about one short video, Luck appeared to be moving well in the clip via Dan Graziano of ESPN.

The Colts haven’t counted out Luck for the regular-season opener on Sept. 8 against the Los Angeles Chargers. There is still some concern that he is held out of the opener, but this video is very encouraging for his chances to play.

The Colts are expected to make their decision on the starting quarterback for the start of the regular season following the third preseason game, which comes on Saturday, Aug. 24, against the Chicago Bears.
