Major college programs like LSU and Alabama produce a lot of the players you’ll see on Sundays in the NFL. There are also sleepers to be found at smaller schools every year. In the 2020 draft, the Panthers picked up Jeremy Chinn from Southern Illinois in the second round – who might just be the top small-school sleeper in this draft class.
After the draft, the team signed 17 college free agents, including another small school prospect in Montana Western linebacker Jason Ferris. Last season, he totaled 119 tackles, (10 for loss), 3.5 sacks, seven pass break ups and three forced fumbles. Here’s his 2019 highlight reel.
