I want to be careful here because a national talk show host like Colin Cowherd has multiple things on his plate and has to keep up with all the news and happenings in sports. It can’t be easy to be a so-called “expert” across multiple stories, spectrums, and happenings in the entire American sporting world.
Then again, that’s what a guy in his position gets paid to do. And in most cases — I will admit — Cowherd is really good at doing so.
However, he had an epic fail on Wednesday interviewing former Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer. The conversation turned to former Buckeye and current LSU quarterback Joe Burrow. Cowherd praised the Ohio kid for what he’s meant to the Bayou Tigers and proceeded to give Meyer a hard time about letting the kid get out of the state of Ohio.
“Tell me about Joe Burrow. Did you know him, did you have connections to him, asked Cowherd… “How did he get out of Ohio?”
A stunned Meyer then reminds Cowherd that he signed with Ohio State, was there for three years, then went to LSU as a graduate transfer.

Again, I completely respect Cowherd, but this is something that even the casual college football fan would know.
