Many Falcons fans seem to have their hearts set on getting Houston DL Ed Oliver in the first round. As much as he’d thrive in Atlanta working with Dan Quinn, the team has to prepare for the possibility that he won’t be available when they’re on the clock at the end of the month. In fact, after his pro day showing, there’s a chance he’ll even be a top-5 pick.
There are several other excellent defensive line prospects to choose from even if they don’t get Oliver. They could also choose to address other needs in the early rounds. NFL Network recently did a segment with Bucky Brooks and Curtis Conway drafting for the Falcons. Brooks had Oklahoma OL Cody Ford going to Atlanta at No. 14, then Conway picked Clemson cornerback Trayvon Mullen in round two. Watch.
