Clay Matthews garnered interest from other teams in free agency, but he opted to return home and sign with the Los Angeles Rams. He’s a California native and went to USC, so he’ll be playing his home games at the Coliseum once again.
Matthews made the deal official on Thursday by putting pen to paper, signing his two-year deal worth up to $16.75 million.
After signing the contract, Matthews shared a message with Rams fans, saying he’s excited to be a Ram and is looking forward to a great 2019 season.
Matthews will be introduced with a press conference on Thursday at 2:30 p.m. PT at the Rams’ headquarters in Thousand Oaks.
