Christian Pulisic makes history, scores hat trick in the Premier League

Christian Pulisic’s slow start for Chelsea generated plenty of concern in the soccer media, the 21-year-old American star is starting to make a major impact for his new club.

After delivering an assist midweek to help Chelsea to a 1-0 win over Ajax in the Champions League, Pulisic got the start Saturday against Burnley and scored his first goal in the Premier League in the 21st minute.

Pulisic pounced on an error by Burnley’s Matthew Lowton in his own half, created a shooting angle for himself with a stepover as he entered the penalty area, and fired a low shot with his left foot into the side netting at the far corner.

Chelsea fans gathered in Austin, Texas, lost it.

Pulisic added a second goal just before halftime on a deflected shot.

In the second half, Pulisic completed his hat trick with the back of his head. Pulisic twisted his body to knock in a cross from Mason Mount while looking at the opposite side of the field. With the goal, Pulisic became the second American, after Clint Dempsey, to score a hat trick in the Premier League.
