WATCH: Chiefs WR Tyreek Hill catches pass in warmups before Lions game

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Tyreek Hill won’t be suiting up against the Detroit Lions in Week 4, but he still managed to get some work in during pregame warmups.

Hill is recovering from a sternoclavicular dislocation injury suffered in Week 1 of the regular season against the Jacksonville Jaguars. It’s an injury that can be very serious and requires various recovery and rehab steps before a player can be cleared for football contact. Hill is not there yet, but he is able to catch a football and he looks like his regular self while doing so.

NFL Network’s James Palmer caught Hill in warmups ahead of the Lions game. Check it out:

He looks pretty good moving around out there, both cutting and catching the ball. During the practice week leading up to Week 3, Hill was spotted dribbling a basketball in the locker room. He’s making clear progress in his recovery from his injury.

As Palmer suggests in his tweet, the Chiefs will continue to evaluate Hill’s status in hopes of clearing him for contact. The risk of reinjury is high if he’s rushed back too early, so expect the team to proceed with caution.

As the offense for the Chiefs continues to impress without Hill on the field, his return — and what it will do to the complexion of the unit — become even more anticipated.
