The NFL game is not too big for Kansas City Chiefs rookie WR Mecole Hardman.
On just Hardman’s second reception of his young career, he caught his first NFL regular-season touchdown pass. It came on third-and-20 and gave the Chiefs their first lead against the Oakland Raiders after a rough start to the game.
Hardman ran a bad route on third down earlier in the game, but he’s already made up for it. This time Hardman ran a solid route on this touchdown with a great play inside of the left seam. The chemistry is coming along between Patrick Mahomes and the young rookie. Check it out:
The Chiefs needed some receivers to step up during this game and moving forward. Tyreek Hill is out with injury and Sammy Watkins is attracting extra attention after his big game against the Jaguars. Travis Kelce is also a focus of the Raiders defense.
Hardman has been one-half of two receivers to step up for the Chiefs. The other being Demarcus Robinson, who already has showcased some great chemistry with Mahomes during his career. Hopefully, this will just be the beginning of some great things to come between Mahomes and Hardman. They’ll look to connect some more as the Chiefs work toward beating the Raiders and going 2-0 to start the season.
