WATCH: Chiefs WR Marcus Kemp beats press coverage with a twist

We’re officially into the dog days of summer.

For Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Marcus Kemp, that statement is a double entendre. Sometimes it’s hard to find an offseason training partner. Not everyone has a training buddy who lives close by like Tyreek Hill and Gehrig Dieter.

During his offseason training away from the team, Kemp has sought the assistance of some unique help to get him prepared for the upcoming season. Kemp took to Twitter to post this adorable video of him running a route against a dog, presumably his dog.

Check it out down below:

The dog actually did a great job covering Kemp here, and I wouldn’t be shocked if this exercise is actually helpful for Chiefs wideout. Kemp gets a good release off the line and the dog is hot on his trail. When Kemp goes up to get the ball from the JUGS machine, it’s no contest.

As for the good boy, he’ll probably be better off covering the dog from “Air Bud: Golden Receiver” in the future. It’d be much more fair for the dog that way, instead of covering Kemp, who is a whopping 6-foot-4 human being.

All I know is that dog better be getting a trip to the Three Dog Bakery for some special treats after a long day of training.
