Chiefs head coach Andy Reid won’t yet rule out quarterback Patrick Mahomes ahead of Sunday’s game versus the Packers.
Following the reigning NFL MVP’s right knee injury in last week’s Thursday night game 30-6 win versus the Broncos, Mahomes was going “to do a few things,” at practice according to Reid’s pre-practice conversation with the media.
The quarterback began rehabbing in a pool Wednesday and also did some throwing on the side of the practice field, according to the head coach.
However, Matt Moore is the quarterback taking the majority of reps at the position. Reid said the team is taking it “day-to-day,” in regard to decision making about when Mahomes could possibly play again.
Moore took over for injured Mahomes in the Thursday Week 7 game. The 12th-season NFL player completed 10 of 19 for 117 yards and one touchdown.
The Packers (6-1) visit Kansas City (5-2) Sunday, the game kicks off at 7:20 p.m. local time.
