WATCH: Chiefs training staff working on QB Patrick Mahomes’ right knee

The Kansas City Chiefs have lost QB Patrick Mahomes for the remainder of this game with a knee injury and it doesn’t look good.

Mahomes suffered an apparent knee injury on a quarterback sneak during the second quarter. He was writhing in pain underneath the pile and his teammates immediately motioned for the training staff.

On the broadcast replay, you could see members of the Chiefs training staff working on his knee. It appeared as if the training staff had to pop Mahomes’ knee back into place. Here’s a look at that and if you’re squeamish you might want to go ahead skip the tweet:

Obviously, early indications are not good. The replay is one thing, but how quickly he was ruled out is also quite concerning. Mahomes went back into the X-Ray room and was only there for a very short time before he was ruled out for a return to the game.

We’ll find out more about his condition following the conclusion of the game.
